Semester project for Grade 7 SMP NOAH is designed to align with Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs) which focuses on #justice, #peace, and #genderequality. On Thursday, August 29, 2019, the students visited Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak dan Balita Tunas Bangsa, Panti Jompo Tresna Werdha Budhi Mulia, Wisma Tuna Ganda, and Panti Asuhan si Boncel.
After observing the Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak dan Balita Tunas Bangsa, Panti Jompo Tresna Werdha Budhi Mulia, Wisma Tuna Ganda, and Panti Asuhan si Boncel, Grade 7 started do something to support those in need. They did fundraising by organizing a food bazaar and chipped in their daily pocket money within two weeks as part of their project semester activities.
The money that they collected were spent to buy things that were needed by orphanages, such as milk, diapers, carpet, brooms, and biscuits. The items were handed over directly to the orphanages and nursing homes. They learned that people in need deserve to enjoy happiness too, a very simple thing that they can give to others.
Further more, students learned the implementation of SDGs program #justice #peace and #genderequality which can be applied in their daily lives. It also made them learned to be a sociopreneurship students in which they learned how to develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues.
